Ramblings of a Fool (FMABS3E3 analysis)
Content warning for more depressing stuff, though not as bad as the last couple of times.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood S2E3: “Struggle of the Fool”
Mustang, Hawkeye, and the Elric brothers are all in Father's captivity now, with Scar and May Chang having narrowly escaped. Off in his secluded mountain hermitage, Hohenheim seems to have felt a disturbance in the wog, and may end up coming to rescue his sons now that he's worked through some budget-saving and filler-y inner doubts. Onward!

Ergo Proxy S1E3: “Leap Into the Void”
The third and last of the Ergo Proxy episodes in this order! Things got more gripping in the previous ep, so let's dive right in.

Ergo Proxy S1E2: “Confessions of a Fellow Citizen”
I'm going to be doing something that I don't usually do with anime, and switching from sub to dub. I've had some friends tell me that the dubbing did a much better job with the translation, and that the subbed version doesn't explain itself well enough. Given how confusing I found the pilot, I think it behooves me to give the dub a try and see if it really does help going forward.

Ergo Proxy S1E1: “Pulse of Awakening”
So, the pilot episode, "Pulse of Awakening." It starts with a quote that makes that title seem rather more ominous.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes - The New Thesis S1E1: “In the Eternal Night”
We open on a man driving a pair of passengers on a horse cart through a wintry forest. Is it just me, or does space anime have a thing about horses?

Fullmetal Alchemist S2E2: “Father”
Alphonse is going to meet Father, and Edward might meet him as well depending on where his experimental teleport drops him off. No teaser this time. We go straight to the (inferior) OP and then into the episode.

Fate/Zero S1E6: “Night of Schemes”
That's pretty much every night, if you live in Fateworld. The days are pretty scheme-y, too. And don't even get me started on the mornings and evenings.

Fate/Zero S1E5: “A Wicked Beast’s Roar”
Evocative title. Let's see what it's referring to!

Fate/Zero S1E4: “Spearhead”
I guess dealing with the Lancer and his elusive master will be making up a significant part of this episode, going by the name. And sure enough, this picks up right where we left off, with the Lancer and Arturia starting their duel while Iri keeps an eye out for the master.

Fate/Zero S1E3: “Fuyuki City”
Back to Fate/Zero! Let the schadenfreude begin as we watch assholes do terrible things to other assholes!

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood S2E1: “Interlude Party”
As the episode does not start where either of the season one finale cliffhangers left off, it is definitely an interlude. The visuals confirm that there also is, in fact, a party. So, truth in advertising if nothing else!

Street Sharks S3E7: “A Shark Among Us”
I was going to call it a fever dream, but fever dreams tend to have better visuals.

Street Sharks S3E4: “First Shark”
Jumping ahead all the way into Street Sharks' third and final season. It's Street Sharks, so it shouldn't be any harder to understand what's going on than it would be if I'd watched it all the way through.

Marvel Mangaverse #2: “Eternity Twilight” (conclusion)
Cut away from Baron Von Memelord's victory speech, and to a...thing...driving across the water.

Marvel Mangaverse #2: “Eternity Twilight” (part one)
Just from the cover art alone I'm already dreading this:

Marvel Mangaverse #1: “New Dawn” (continued)
Continuing into the confusing and poorly drawn world of Marvel Mangaverse.

Marvel Mangaverse #1: “New Dawn” (part one)
For the past ten years, Marvel Comics has been one of the big movers and shakers of American pop culture, and a massive money-making machine for the sinister rodent overlords who acquired it at the start of the decade. In the ten years preceding the MCU + Disney era, though, Marvel's successes were much more mixed.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood S1E26: “Reunion”
Here we are. The season one finale, and what a finale it has the potential to be! So many unions to be restored: Mustang and his team, Edward and Alphonse, Yao and Ninjette, and of course the brothers and Father. If they've actually met him before, of course; otherwise that last one isn't exactly a reunion. But anyway, midpoint of the series, and a major change of the status quo pretty much unavoidable.

Garden of Sinners 4: “The Hollow Shrine”
It's time for the last Kara no Kyoukai/Garden of Sinners movie currently in queue. I don't have many expectations, either positive or negative, at this point. "Overlooking View" was fun. "A Study In Murder I" was so-so. "Remaining Sense of Pain" was awful. So, this could really be anywhere in terms of quality, and most of these films seem to be episodic enough to stand on their own.
